Activity: Make-your-own scented salt – This activity aims to help with relaxation and stress relief through scents, and the participants can take home the item that can be reopened later for a quick sensory calm down experience. Using small containers (~3g) of Epsom salt mixed with essential oils.

Inclusive Eye Health Screening

 

The Eyecare Village by Eyeviser is offering complimentary eye health screenings for persons with disabilities and special needs at the Enabling Lives Festival. Our examinations are tailored for comfort, creating a positive and stress-free experience.

Each screening includes a prescription check and a thorough assessment of the corneas, eyelids, retinas, and optic nerves to detect cataracts, glaucoma, and other eye conditions. Our optometrists take a patient-centred approach, building trust through clear communication and care.

Early detection helps prevent vision loss and supports daily living. Book your complimentary eye exam today and take a step toward clear, healthy vision for you and your loved ones.

Immersive Sight: An Eyecare Workshop

The Eyecare Village by Eyeviser presents an experiential eyecare workshop that combines eye health education with empathy-building. Participants engage in guided vision impairment simulations and interactive activities. These sessions are uniquely facilitated by visually impaired persons who share firsthand experiences of navigating daily life with vision challenges.

Through this immersive approach, participants gain practical knowledge about essential eyecare tips and learn to recognize warning signs of eye diseases. The workshop creates powerful moments of reflection that foster deeper understanding and empathy for persons with vision impairment.

This experience culminates in a meaningful call to action, encouraging participants to prioritize regular comprehensive eye examinations, adopt preventive practices, and become advocates for inclusive eyecare in their communities. By blending medical knowledge with human-centered design, The Eyecare Village empowers Singaporeans to take proactive charge of their ocular health while promoting greater accessibility and understanding for all.

The Eyecare Village by Eyeviser is thrilled to present a captivating exhibition of art from our children’s art contest, “Inclusive Eye Health – Seeing a Brighter World Together“. This vibrant showcase is more than just art; it is a powerful perspective on the importance of healthy vision, seen through the imaginative eyes of our young.

Each artwork tells a unique story, celebrating how clear sight empowers us to learn, play, and build meaningful connections with the world around us. The exhibition also carries a profound message of inclusivity and equity, reflecting our core belief that comprehensive eyecare should be accessible to everyone, irrespective of disability or income.

We invite you to explore this colorful and thought-provoking collection. It’s a wonderful opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with your family about eye health and to see why protecting our vision is fundamental to living life to its fullest. This exhibition features a vibrant collection of artworks by artists from Arts@Metta, an initiative by Metta Welfare Association that empowers Metta School alumni youth with special needs through vocational training in the visual arts. Guided by its vision to nurture individuals into contributing members of society and its mission to provide accessible platforms for creative growth and sustainable livelihoods, Arts@Metta supports aspiring artists in developing their talents and expressing their unique perspectives.

 

Spanning diverse mediums and styles, the exhibition reflects the artists’ personal journeys, resilience, and aspirations. Each piece is a heartfelt invitation to experience the world through their eyes — vibrant, inclusive, and full of possibility. Through this showcase, Arts@Metta celebrates the transformative power of art in enabling lives and fostering a more compassionate and inclusive society.

1) VOS Open Mic

The VOS Open Mic brings together children, youth, and adults to share their voices through heartfelt solos, playful duets, vibrant ensembles, and soulful a cappella performances, featuring singers from the VOS State Choirs, Children’s Choir, and Community Choirs. Come witness as people of all ages step beyond their comfort zones to showcase creativity, celebrate the joy of music-making, and strengthen the spirit of togetherness that defines our VOS community.

 

2) The Pop-Up Choir

The pop-up choir is for everyone who loves to explore singing, whether you’re a shower superstar, a casual crooner, or someone curious to discover the magic of part-singing. Come as you are and find your voice in a welcoming, playful, and passionate community of music lovers. This is your space to experiment, harmonize, and make music together in a joyful celebration of creativity, connection, and the sheer fun of singing.

 

3) Christmas Singalong

Come join our choristers for a fun and festive Christmas sing-along! Belt out classics like Feliz Navidad, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas , Winter Wonderland , and many more. Curious what it’s like to be in a choir? This is the perfect chance to explore your voice and join in the fun! Bring your friends and family, whether you want to sing along or just tap your feet and enjoy the tunes, it’s a joyful way to soak up the holiday cheer and celebrate the season together. This free event is open to the public, everyone is welcome!

Dive into a world of colour and creativity with artist Vicki! In this fun drop-in activity, you’ll get to pour, swirl, and tilt paint to create your very own abstract masterpiece. Watch as colours blend into magical patterns and surprising textures — no two artworks are ever the same! Perfect for all ages, this playful session invites everyone to enjoy the joy of making and experimenting together.

 

About the Artist:

 

Vicki is a visual and ceramic artist who finds joy in exploring different mediums and techniques. Her practice often moves fluidly between painting and ceramics, reflecting her curiosity and love for hands-on experimentation. Whether working on canvas or shaping with clay, Vicki delights in the process of discovery, texture, and play through art.

The Cookie Workshop costs $25, inclusive of a drink from Mad Roaster’s Slow Bar (non-alcoholic selection) and a Nutella-stuffed brown butter cookie to take home! Part of the proceeds will also go toward an honorarium to the workshop hosts – our talented bakers on the autism spectrum.

• Experience a showcase of AMGD Superfood’s past workshop outcomes through videos, testimonials, and artworks, alongside live inclusive cooking demos, celebrity chef healthy baking, and a mini pop-up retail by persons with disabilities. Enjoy interactive sessions open to walk-ins and guests alike.

• Paint of Possibilities: Paint tote bags and pouches with artists with disabilities where every brushstroke tells a story.
• AMGD LEGO Experience: Join persons with disabilities in co-creating an AMGD Superfood landscape using LEGO that celebrates unity, kindness, and inclusion.

• Workshop Outcomes Showcase: Meet the makers, hear their stories, and see how every purchase fuel meaningful employment.
• Live Inclusive Cooking Demos: Watch our chefs, nutritionist and trainees prepare nutritious five-ingredient meals you can replicate in busy, real-life kitchens. Learn smart swaps, seasoning without added sugar, and zero-waste tips.
• Stay for Celebrity Chef Sessions: Featuring AMGD’s CEO and celebrity chef leading healthy baking demos—techniques, timing, and texture without the sugar crash.
• Mini Pop-up Retail: Stocked with handmade goods crafted by Persons with Disabilities during workshops; proceeds support skills development.
• Bake with a Cause: Bake, decorate and package alongside AMGD’s bakers who are also persons with disabilities. Each cookie jar or bag sold supports continued training and employment for persons with disabilities, turning every treat into an act of empowerment.

Explore fascinating science phenomena through hands-on activities! Led by facilitators with disabilities, investigate physics with our Ring & Chain demonstration and uncover hidden colours through chromatography.

Experience the magnificent power of the Sun through specially equipped telescopes. Observe fascinating solar phenomena like sunspots and solar prominences, and learn how ancient civilisations tracked time using the Sun’s movement. This workshop will also shed light on how the Science Centre brings our programmes to participants with disabilities.
