Co-created 3D-printable Assistive Devices

Showcasing co-created assistive devices and the opensource Braille Embosser “BrailleRAP”. SalvageGarden brings the makerspace approach to challenge the high cost of custom made assistive devices. We do this with digital fabrication like 3D printing and laser-cutting, using opensource designs, and engaging volunteers to make things that make sense.

Come try out some of the devices made by caregivers and persons with disabilities. Each device is a representation of its users unique needs. We believe that with assistive devices the user and caregiver should have a role in its design and the prototyping process. As the “Nothing about us, without us.” movement encourages.

SalvageGarden volunteer sessions are free to the public once a week at Library Makerspaces. Come Join as a volunteer, make things that are meaningful to persons with disabilities.
