Sowing the Seeds: Wandering Words
Wandering Words is a captivating dance and poetry performance featuring dancers from the Diverse Abilities Dance Collective (DADC) and original poems by local poet, Catherine Joan Devadason, a person with Down’s syndrome. This unique collaboration blends the evocative power of movement with the expressive depth of spoken word, creating an immersive experience that celebrates creativity, diversity, and inclusion. Through Catherine’s heartfelt poetry and the dancers’ dynamic interpretations, Wandering Words explores themes of identity, emotions, and connection, bringing stories to life in ways that transcend traditional forms of communication.
The performance highlights the strength and beauty of both dance and poetry as tools of self-expression, empowering individuals with disabilities to share their voices and talents with the world. Wandering Words serves as a powerful reminder of the limitless potential of the human spirit and the profound impact of art in building bridges between communities. This online presentation is specially created and launched on 3 December to commemorate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
Wandering Words is supported by the National Arts Council and Apsara Asia.
